Accessibility Policy

1. Accessible Customer Service

The Club is committed to providing goods, services and facilities to people with disabilities in a manner that respects their dignity and independence and supports integration and equal opportunity.

Employees will communicate with individuals with disabilities in ways that take their individual needs into consideration.

Where appropriate, alternative methods of communication or service will be offered to ensure individuals can access Club information, programs and services.

Members, guests and visitors with disabilities are welcome to use their personal assistive devices when accessing the Club's facilities and services.

Employees will provide assistance where appropriate and work with individuals to identify reasonable alternatives when accessibility challenges arise.

3. Service Animals and Support Persons

The Club welcomes individuals with disabilities accompanied by service animals in areas where service animals are permitted by law.

Where a service animal is legally excluded from an area, the Club will work with the individual to identify an appropriate alternative.

Individuals with disabilities who require a support person are welcome to have that person accompany them while accessing Club facilities and services.

Where an admission or participation fee applies to a support person, the Club will provide advance notice of the applicable fee.

4. Temporary Service Disruptions

In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to facilities or services used by individuals with disabilities, the Club will provide notice as soon as reasonably possible.

Notices will include:

  • The reason for the disruption.

  • The anticipated duration, where known.

  • Available alternative facilities or services, where applicable.

Notices may be communicated through signage, the Club's website, electronic communications or other appropriate methods.

5. Information and Communications

The Club is committed to making information and communications accessible to individuals with disabilities.

Upon request, the Club will provide or arrange accessible formats and communication supports in consultation with the individual making the request, in a timely manner and at a cost no greater than the regular cost charged to others.

Accessibility will be considered when developing and updating website content, Club communications, forms and other public information.

The Club will work toward maintaining its public-facing website and applicable web content in accordance with WCAG 2.0 Level AA requirements under the AODA.
